The Great Escape!!

Tira has a bouncy chair that we will put her in sometimes. She use to sit nicely in it playing with Arnold Schwarzenegger (lion), Maria Shriver (elephant), and GW Bush (elephant). But lately it's all been a ploy. We'll put her in the bouncy chair and she'll smile at us:
But as soon as we turn our back on her she goes for the great escape
When that tactic doesn't work, she tries this

She hasn't been successful yet but I think she's consipiring with the cat!

Two prayer request:

Tira's great-aunty Sugar went in today for another round of chemotherapy.

Tira's great-uncle Danny was in a really bad motorcycle accident today. We're not sure if he's going to make it.

She tries to Crawl!!

So the little booger thinks she's going to be a mobile booger! At first she could only push up with her arms and lift that giant noggin of hers. Then she progressed to lifting her chest off the ground so much so that she was able to look over the side of the crib. Like this:
Now she's able to scooch her knees under herself and rock back and forth, mostly falling on her face. Like this:

I think she's going to be crawling very soon. :-O

We have a Water Baby!!

We finally took Tira swimming! She absolutely loves it. She's so cute too because she'll kick her little legs like she's propelling herself forward. You have to be careful because she likes to drop her head down and get a mouth full of water but aside from that she does great! I have a feeling that by the time we get back from Thailand she'll be swimming on her own. Here's pictures and a video clip:

In responce to an incident in Kentucky, 96 Applebees in 43 states had protesters outside their stores today. Included in those protests were us! Pnut, g-ma, and I made the long haul up to San Dimas, CA to protest Applebees pathetic breastfeeding policy (i.e. you must cover up to nurse your baby in the resturant which is just plain ILLEGAL!). Here's us getting ready to go:

It was a lot of fun. We ran into Dee and John from our breastfeeding workshops and met and bunch of new mommies and babies. The manager of that particular Applebees was awesome, he brought us out nice cold waters and told us that he was a father of 5 kids who were ALL BREASTFEED! We had a lot of people honk in "support" though the majority of those people were 20something yr old guys who were just excited at the thought of naked boobies. Here are more pictures from our protest!
G-ma was really into the protest!

The 3 seconds Tira decided to nurse for. Even then she kept pulling off.

So the baby has been acting like she's ready for and really wants solids. I however, want her to wait until she's at least 6 months old, which wont be until Sept 21st. So the mommies on my message board suggested giving her a "momsicle" or frozen breastmilk. They now sell these nifty mesh baggies that are attached to a handle for you to stick food in. The mesh prevents large chuncks of the food getting stuck in babies throat. It think the concept is gross but it could work for the momsicle.

So today I took out a cube of frozen milk and stuck it in the baggie and gave it to Tira. She didn't quite get it. So instead I cut up the cube so it was like a slushie and decided to try and spoon feed the baby. She HATED it! Her's a video of her second taste of frozen BM:
