I'm a "Crapting" Maniac

^ that is not far from the truth. But at least I've put my pinning to some good use. Aunty Marissa has been hosting a weekly Christmas craft day and I've made some fun stuff there and at home.

The pillow bed which will end up being a Christmas present.

We also made the cutest hand print Christmas trees for Grandma Cathy and Grandpa Dave. The tree itself are their hand prints and the ornaments are their finger prints:

And let's not forget something cute for the girls to wear. What's better than ribbon tree tshirts!

From Kung Fu to Water Bending to Karate

Tira has always been mildly obsessed with Chinese martial arts. She used to love to watch those old school Chinese Kung Fu movies where people fly through the air with their long flowing outfits. Then, thanks to the miracle that is Netflix, she was exposed to the Jackie Chan and Avatar cartoons. Since then she's convinced she's a waterbender. For those of you not in the know here a link to waterbending. She practices her waterbending frequently:

Let's have a moment of silence as I come to accept that eventually I'll have a hula hooping, tight rope walking, hippie for a daughter. Sob.

In an effort to channel her energy into something more production than waterbending we decided to give karate a try. What started out as two free classes for Tira has ended up in both girls signed up for a year long karate course. But they love it, their instructor is awesome, and it's freaking hysterical to watch. I'm counting on them being black belts by the time their 10 and earning back the money I'm forking out by teaching karate all through high school.

Lanna is very focused and attentive in class, where as Tira likes to check herself out in the wall to wall mirrors. But they're both getting better and they're both having fun.

3 and 4 year olds sparing is by far the most hysterical thing ever.

The best part of this karate class is that they instructor always has them run away from the bad guy at the end of the techniques. They also stress the importance of respect and discipline which I'm hoping will sink in soon. One day soon I wont be able to pin them down and tickle them... Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
