Silver Lake Picnic and Hike

This past Sunday the family+ (me, the girls, Yai and Papa, Aunty and Uncle, and grandma Cathy and Grandma Murdok) drove up to Silver Lake for a picnic and a "hike".

We commandeered a picnic table and had a nice lunch - salmon sandwiches on bagels. Yum. There were one too many vicious flies for my taste but other than that it was nice. We finished the meal off with some homemade brownies and zucchini bread from Grandma Cathy and we were ready for our "hike".

It wasn't really a hike since 75% was a boardwalk and the rest was cleared and smooth. If you're in Utah and haven't been to Silver Lake it's a great place for an afternoon trip. There were ducks and ground squirrels (which are like American meerkats), fish, and apparently moose but we didn't see any. The walk is easy enough for kids and off the path are big rocks and fallen trees to climb on. The scenery is gorgeous and worth the drive.
