To Catch a Leprechaun

How to catch a leprechaun.

Step one, make some rainbows because leprechauns love rainbows. You'll need glue, paper plates, cotton balls, various colored streamers or tissue paper that's been cut into strips.

Hang the rainbows in your window and wait. It takes a long time to get from Ireland to Utah.

Next make a leprechaun trap. Be creative. We cut out green shamrocks, wrote enticing signs and laid out a trail of lucky charms.

Then we waited... and waited... and waited. The girls checked our trap multiple times a day and still not leprechaun. Tira even put some stickers in the trap because she thought that would tempt him. And while they waited I got to work.

Some 99cent store tupperware, green paint, black construction paper, and glittery gold scrap booking paper.

It took two coats. And the second coat started pulling the first coat off! I used almost the entire bottle of paint.

Fill 'er up with gold and goodies.

Then watch.

May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!

Happy St Patrick's Day!
